GOD’S WORD IS THE FINAL AUTHORITY ON ANY ISSUE!
He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” —Matthew 19:4-6
So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep, and while he slept, He took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the area with flesh. And from the rib that the LORD God had taken from the man, He made a woman and brought her to him. And the man said: “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for out of man she was taken.” For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. —Genesis 2:21-24
Fallen, sinful and perverted thinking man will always seek to pervert God’s designs and God’s ways. Man apart from God needs to “be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will” (II Timothy 2:25-26). This verse in II Timothy tells us much about those who do not know our Lord Jesus Christ. They—
- Need to be gently taught
- Hopefully will be granted repentance by God
- Would come to a knowledge of the truth
- Would come to their senses
- Would escape from the trap of the devil
- Would no longer be the devil’s captive
- Would no longer do the devil’s will
God’s Word is the final authority when it comes to any issue—abortion, trafficking, idolatry, marriage, gender, homosexuality, family, parenting, worship, speech, thinking, murdering, adultery, stealing, lying, material belongings and the list goes on and on…
Specially in the passages above God says that marriage is between one man and one woman. Ungodly men will come up with “alternative” ideas that are perverted, but that does not change the truth of God’s Word and ways. All will be held accountable to God for perverting His will and ways.
Brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus, let us not stop from proclaiming what God says about marriage or any other social issue that is contrary to His Word. People need to hear what God has to say. We trust that many who hear will “come to their senses” and start thinking rightly according to the truth of God’s Word. Remember, this is a spiritual battle. Satan has fallen, ungodly man held captive to do his will. Satan is anti-God, anti-Christ, anti-Spirit, but he will appear “as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve” (II Corinthians 11:14-15). So don’t be surprised when you see things like “Religious studies professor supports trans rights claiming Bible ‘portrays gender as a colorful spectrum‘”. Anyone who reads the Word of God for themselves knows this is an utterly evil perversion of God’s Word. But… Satan will deceive many with such ideas as much as the one who is spouting it. Let’s keep sharing the truth.
