BE A HEALTHY TREE!

And after a time his master’s wife cast her eyes on Joseph and said, “Lie with me…  How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?” —Genesis 38:7, 9

 “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for the tree is known by its fruit.” —Matthew 12:33

            Joseph was a “healthy tree” and he is surely “know by (his) fruit.”  He was in a very tempting situation by Potiphar’s wife.  She was regularly enticing him to sleep with her and she waited for the right time to be more aggressive in her enticement.  When Joseph came into the house one day to faithfully do his work, she was the only one in the house and grabbed him saying, “Lie with me.”  But Joseph fled from the house.

            Sexual immorality is great wickedness and it is sin against God.  Our culture, and the world’s cultures, do not see it this way.  No, indeed, governments are promoting sexual immorality in many forms.  The “fruit” of the world’s cultures are rotten to the core.  Anything other than God’s design for sexuality in marriage is rotten wickedness against God.

            How about you and I, fellow followers of Jesus, is the fruit of our lives good or bad, healthy or unhealthy?  Do we ask the same question of Joseph when he was tempted? —– “How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?”  Do we guard our actions, our eyes and our ears?  Do we take the right action, watch the right things and listen to the right things?  Or, do we engage in that which is wickedness and sin against God?  Oh, may we be what God desires and do what God desires!  May we have good, healthy fruit showing our “tree” to be healthy.  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TB6IvyegNCs&list=RDTB6IvyegNCs&start_radio=1&rv=tJVxJrUTwGU
