OVERCOMERS IN JESUS!

And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. —Revelation 12:11

Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is 666. —Revelation 13:16-18

            666 was the number of Nero.  He was also nicknamed the beast— from what I read.  So this coming one, the anti-Christ, is going to look much like him.  He was a tyrant, a murderer who killed his wives and other family members, sexually immoral which included homosexuality and raping people.  You can see our culture and world moving toward this type of behavior already.

            This coming tyrant, this anti-Christ, will leverage the economic system to cause people to take his mark— showing allegiance to him.  This will include all levels of society.  Nobody will be exempt.  You either take the mark or you are locked out of the world-wide economic system.  Think of what that would look like for you if it happened today!  I am not saying it is, but I am just asking you to ponder what that would look like where you live today.  Wow… life would change drastically just seeking to survive!

            There will be many followers of Jesus that will die during this time.  We who follow Jesus look beyond this life to the life to come in glory.  Death to these bodies only brings us immediately into the presence of Jesus— “We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord” (II Corinthians 5:8).  We are overcomers “by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of (our) testimony.”  Yes, we are overcomers by the finished work of Jesus’ substitutionary death on the cross and our bearing witness to that work by our life and words.  So, brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus, REJOICE!
