SAY, “YES LORD”
As for these four youths, God gave them learning and skill in all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. —Daniel 1:17
The Lord said to Moses, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say” (Exodus 4:11-12). “To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness…“ (Ecclesiastes 2:26).
God will give you what you need to serve Him. We do what is our responsibility and then trust Him to do what He desires in and through us. When Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah (Belteshazzar, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego) were taken captive to Babylon, they were given three years of education. It was God that gave them the ability to learn “And in every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters that were in all his kingdom” (Daniel 1:20).
The Lord God Almighty has and is educating you to serve Him. He gave you the mouth that you have. For those who are deaf or mute, He also has specific purpose as He educates them. The same is true of those who are blind. He is the One who helps us speak and is the ultimate teacher revealing knowledge to us. What people view as physical limitations are not limitations to the Creator of all.
So, where are you in His education process and how are you serving Him or how does He want you to serve Him? Moses, a man educated in all the ways of Egypt, wanted the Lord to send someone else to do the work God was calling Moses to. Do we have that attitude? Do we want God to send someone else to do what God is calling us to do? Or do we just not want to do what God wants us to do?
What He calls us to do may not be easy and it may be very difficult, but what God has called us to be and do He will accomplish through us. Those things He wants us to do that we think we cannot do are the wonderful opportunities to see God’s power at work in and through us. Have we ever done something outside our own power and out of our comfort zone? Can we look back and say, “Wow that truly was the Lord’s hand at work!” Let us trust Him with whatever He calls us to be and do. May we see His mighty power at work in and through our lives.
Dear Father, please help me to be and do what You have educated me to be and do. May I also continue with the education You desire of me and apply it to life as You desire. May I be faithful to what You have called me for.
