SPEAK!

“Do not prophesy in the name of the Lord, or you will die by our hand.” —Jeremiah 11:21

But if any nation will not listen, then I will utterly pluck it up and destroy it, declares the Lord. —Jeremiah 12:17

People are being killed in countries just for speaking about Jesus. There are those in our own country that do not want us to speak about Jesus. Many do not want to hear his name in the public arena. I did the invocation and benediction at a high school graduation for a few years and prayed in the name of Jesus. Many teachers in that school said that I was not inclusive enough, but none of the students verbalize those thoughts. It was the teachers who did not want to hear the name of Jesus.

In the verse above Jeremiah was threatened that he would be killed if he spoke in the name of the Lord. Some things never change, but is it not interesting how people get upset over God’s Word being spoken. You can speak about all kinds of other topics and people do not care, but speak the Lord’s Word and people get upset. Well, I will speak the Lord’s Word!

The other verse above speaks about “any nation that will not listen.” The Lord will destroy it at some point. This includes America. If America will not listen to God’s Word, America will eventually be destroyed. That is what God’s Word says.

The Lord commands us to be disciple-makers which includes sharing His Word. We are to be His witness which includes sharing His Word. We are to be comforters which includes sharing His Word. When the world tells us not to share His Word, then who will we obey? We ought to obey God rather than man! (Acts 4:19; 5:29).

Dear Father, help me to lovingly share Your Word wherever You desire me to. May this be done in the authority of Jesus and by the Holy Spirit’s power.
