FINDING REST IN JESUS!

Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.  Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. —Psalm 62:1-2

Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.  Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.  My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.  Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. —Psalm 62:5-8

One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard: “Power belongs to you, God, and with you, Lord, is unfailing love”; and, “You reward everyone according to what they have done.” —Psalm 62:11-12

Truly the righteous attain life, but whoever pursues evil finds death. —Proverbs 11:19

Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).  We can “rest in God” because—

  • He is my hope
  • He is my Rock
  • He is my salvation
  • He is my fortress
  • He will not allow me to be shaken
  • He is the One who gives me honor
  • He can be trusted at all times
  • He desires us to pour out our hearts to Him
  • He is our refuge
  • He has all power
  • He has unfailing love
  • He rewards everyone according to what they have done

Wow!  This is why we can “rest in Him!”  Are you resting or wrestling?  Jesus invites us to Himself so we can have rest and “Truly the righteous attain life.”  Not only have life, but “have it to the full” (John 10:10).  The flip side is if a person does not want to live for God, we are told that “whoever pursues evil finds death.”  Yes, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).  Why would a person choose death, eternal death (Revelation 20:14) instead of eternal life?

Dear Father, if there are any reading this that do not know Jesus, may they call on Him now.  Yes, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYZw0dfLmLk  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cL4mTVpP73o&list=RDcL4mTVpP73o&start_radio=1
