DON’T WORRY— OUR LORD WILL JUDGE EVIL DOERS (They are getting away with nothing)
Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. —Psalm 37:1-4
The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them; but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming. —Psalm 37:12-13
As followers of Jesus, we need to keep focused on Him and His ways—
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” —Hebrews 12:1-2
We do not need to fret, worry or be upset about those who do evil. Nor do we need to “be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away.” This life is so short! I was talking with Pat at the gym yesterday about how short life is. He is 19 years old, soon to be 20 and I told him how clearly I can remember those days and how fast, being almost 71 years old, that time had gone by. Before he knows it, Lord willing, he will be at the age I am. We had a good chat about preparing for what comes after death. May he truly trust our Lord!
As followers of Jesus, we “Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.” We also “Take delight in the Lord” and He promises that He “will give you the desires of your heart.” Surely, as His disciples, we desire that “the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands” (Psalm 90:17).
The wicked who “plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them” are in deep trouble. “The Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming.” Those who persecute the followers of Jesus are actually persecuting Him— “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” (Act 26:14-15). The day of judgment is looming closer. If you don’t know Him, I urge you to call on Him now! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYZw0dfLmLk Dear Father, may those who do not know Jesus that are reading this, be pleased to draw them to Him. May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Precious Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=On-whMoulOM&list=RDOn-whMoulOM&start_radio=1
