BE FAITHFUL IN THE WORKPLACE

Then the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills— to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts. —Exodus 31:1-5

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. —Psalm 32:8

Work is good.  Our Lord God Almighty appointed us to work.  He did so with Adam in the garden— “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it” (Genesis 2:15) — and He does so with us today.  Yes, He “will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; (He) will counsel you with (His) loving eye on you.”  We can be sure of that.

Just as he chose “Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and… filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills— to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts,” so also He can do the same for us in the workplace.  He can—

  • Choose us for a specific work
  • Fill us with His Spirit
  • Can fill us with His wisdom
  • Can fill us with His understanding
  • Can fill us with His knowledge
  • Can fill us with all kinds of skills
  • Can accomplish the work He desires to do through us

The workplace is the largest mission field in the world.  May we honor Him with the work He has given us to do— seeking to do our best work— “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men” (Colossians 3:23).  In doing so, “let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth” (I John 3:18).  Yes, may we shine for Him in our work and may that give opportunity to share Him with our words.  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus— all for Your honor and glory.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BA-Wi4fdcVE&list=RDBA-Wi4fdcVE&start_radio=1
