APPOINTED MEETING PLACE TO GIVE THE MISSION
“The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born.” —Matthew 26:24
“But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.” —Matthew 26:32
“My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.” —Matthew 26:42
“Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.’” —Matthew 28:7
Jesus knew what was coming, that He would be betrayed, arrested, receive injustice, be sentenced to death by crucifixion, die, rise again from the dead and then meet his disciples eventually in Galilee where He would give them their mission—
“Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” —Matthew 28:16-20
This was the plan from the ages past, the mystery that is now revealed—- “This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 3:6). “To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). And, yes, this is the only hope we have— “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” What a joy to know that “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).
Jesus is our only Hope. And it is He that gave us the mission to make “make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” But we do not make disciples on our own. Jesus said “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” So, let us be faithful to His call on our lives. Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. May this be so to bring honor and glory to Your Name! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yBzIt_z8oY&list=RD1yBzIt_z8oY&start_radio=1
