TRUST GOD!

Abraham said, “I did it because I thought, ‘There is no fear of God at all in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.’ —Genesis 20:11

And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you. —Psalm 9:10

In a moment of failure, Abraham allowed his wife to be taken to be Abimelek’s wife.  He did this to save his own skin, thinking that they will see beauty of Sarah and kill Abraham to take her.  So Abraham told they people that she was his sister.  He did not tell them that she was his wife.  Abaham did this “because (he) thought, ‘There is no fear of God at all in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.’”  But Abraham was wrong and God said to Abimelek—

“Yes, I know you did this with a clear conscience, and so I have kept you from sinning against me. That is why I did not let you touch her. Now return the man’s wife, for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you will live. But if you do not return her, you may be sure that you and all who belong to you will die.” —Genesis 20:6-7

Abimelek obeyed God and returned Sarah to Abraham.  We need to be careful in our thinking about situations and trust God.  “And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.”  Even if we are fearful, we need to trust our Lord to work out the situation.  Surely He can and in Abraham’s situation, He did!  So let’s trust Him and not think we have a situation all figured out when we don’t!  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXMPNXXnCls&list=RDvXMPNXXnCls&start_radio=1
