NEXT JUDGMENT NOT BY WATER, BUT BY FIRE!
The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord… Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. —Genesis 6:5-8; 6:11-13
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? —Matthew 3:7
By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. —II Peter 3:7
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. —II Peter 3:10-13
Yes, there is a coming day of wrathful judgment from God. Just as in Noah’s day, there was a time set by God to judge the wickedness of man by water. He did so and then placed the rainbow as a sign that He would never judge the earth again by water (Genesis 9:11-16). The next judgment will be by fire. John the Baptist mentioned this “coming wrath.”
In Noah’s “The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.” Wow, how sad is that. And yet it is true today. If God’s “heart was deeply troubled” then, how must His heart be today with all wickedness that is going on. We are moving closer to the final judgment of this earth. Yes, “the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.” It will happen and “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” (II Peter 3:9). He has not come back yet because He desires others to be saved from their sin, to a relationship with Him so they can be with Him forever. That is why He has not come back. Unfortunately, people “show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead (them) to repentance” (Romans 2:4). And Dear Father, help me to do the part You have given me to encourage people to call on Jesus. Yes, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. https://youtu.be/ksu-zTG9HHg?t=311 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=On-whMoulOM&list=RDOn-whMoulOM&start_radio=1
