BELIEVE GOD’S TRUTH AND NOT SATAN’S LIE

And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” —Genesis 2:16-17

“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman.  “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” —Genesis 3:4-5

Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.” —Genesis 4:6-7

“Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.” —Psalm 2:3

I will proclaim the Lord’s decree: He said to me, “You are my son; today I have become your father. —Psalm 2:7; Hebrews 1:5

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. —Proverbs 1:7

Without the proper respect for the Lord, people will do what they want to do.  Right from the beginning Satan desires and encourages man to despise their Lord’s directives.  Adam and Eve believed the lie that they would not die if they went against God Word after God said they would die if they disobeyed.  It did not take too long for Cain, who was of the wicked one (I John 3:12), to yield to sin crouching rule over him and kill Abel.  Right from the beginning man lived out this truth— “Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.”  Even though our Father and His Son, Jesus, has man’s best interests in mind, sinful man thinks God wants to keep them in bondage when it is actually man who needs to “come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will” (II Timothy 2:26).

The same is true today.  Man does not want God to be their God, they instead want to be their own God, do their own thing.  They think they know better than God and yet it is God who has man’s best interests in mind.  Unfortunately, “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God” (II Corinthians 4:4).  But praise God that “we do not proclaim ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.  For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (II Corinthians 4:5-6). Fortunately, “these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:32) and that “. faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ” (Romans 10:17).

So, brother and sister, fellow follower/disciple of Jesus, let us proclaim His Word.  That is the only hope for man who needs to “come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.”  May we do so by the power of His Holy Spirit and in the authority of His Son Jesus who sent us to “seek and save that which is lost.”  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QANH8MWuyaE&list=RDQANH8MWuyaE&start_radio=1
