THERE ARE THOSE WHO HATE GOD AND WILL NOT REPENT
The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk. Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts. —Revelation 9:20-21
After a third of mankind were killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur, “the rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk. Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.” Look how evil mankind is. After such devastation they are still not willing to repent of their evil deeds and turn to God. Yes, it is said of them after a third of mankind is killed that—
- They do not repent of the work of their hands
- They do not stop worshiping demons
- They do not stop worshiping idols of gold
- They do not stop worshiping idols of silver
- They do not stop worshiping idols of bronze
- They do not stop worshiping idols of stone
- They do not stop worshiping idols of wood
- They do not stop worshiping idols that cannot see
- They do not stop worshiping idols that cannot hear
- They do not stop worshiping idols that cannot walk
- They do not repent of their murders
- They do not repent of their magic arts
- They do not repent of their sexual immorality
- They do not repent of their thefts
This is how it will be at the end of the age. Even when they know that these judgments are from God, they still blaspheme His Name— “The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in agony and cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but they refused to repent of what they had done. (Revelation 16:10-11). It is amazing what mankind would rather go through rather than repenting of their evil and living for God. Don’t be fooled, beloved. There are those who simply hate God and do not want anything to do with Him! Beware… Yes, Dear Father, please help me to be wise toward people as I seek to serve You and share Jesus with others.
