LIFE’S FOCUS FOR THE FOLLOWER OF JESUS
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. —Hebrews 11:1
He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. —Hebrews 11:26
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” —Hebrews 13:5
What is our faith like? Are we “confidence in what we hope for?” Do we have the “assurance about what we do not see?” Understand that “without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” (Hebrews 11:6). Faith is not blind! First, faith is the confidence that God’s Word is God’s Word and that what He says is final authority. Do you believe that?
Is Jesus far greater to us than all the riches of this world because we are looking ahead to what is coming after this world— being with Jesus forever? Let Him be life’s focus and “Keep (our) lives free from the love of money and be content with what (we) have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Do we really believe that? If so, let us live like it! Oh, yes, Dear Father, may it be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. So may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8Sx_U0Ztr8&list=RDo8Sx_U0Ztr8&start_radio=1
