LIVING FOR THE ETERNAL GOSPEL, NOT THE TEMPORAL FADING FRILLS

Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God— the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David, and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. —Romans 1:1-4

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” —Romans 1:16-17

The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. —Romans 1:18-20

They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. —Romans 1:25

How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! —Psalm 133:1

What brings unity among those who have called on Jesus?  Is it not the work of the gospel going out into all the world and making disciples (Matthew 24:14; 28:18-20)?  Paul, and we, are set apart for the gospel of God.  The gospel concisely is—

“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.” —I Corinthians 15:3-8

The resurrection of Jesus is the foundation for our faith and He was proven to be who He said He was by the resurrection— the Son of God and our Savior!  Paul was not ashamed of the gospel and we should not be as well “, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYZw0dfLmLk&t=5s

Beware… wickedness seeks to suppress the truth of the gospel and there is no excuse for it.  God has made plain His existence but people instead “exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.”  The gospel unifies those who believe and are about the work Jesus has left us.  Chaos occurs when the focus is elsewhere.  This world, Satan and the flesh would distract us from that which is most important.  Are you about what is eternally important or are you living for the temporary fading frills?  Oh, Dear Father, may we be living for that which is eternally important and may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8Sx_U0Ztr8&list=RDo8Sx_U0Ztr8&start_radio=1
