GOD WILL ACCOMPLISH WHAT HE DESIRES IN/THROUGH A PERSON’S LIFE!

When it was decided that we would sail for Italy, Paul and some other prisoners were handed over to a centurion named Julius, who belonged to the Imperial Regiment. We boarded a ship from Adramyttium about to sail for ports along the coast of the province of Asia, and we put out to sea. Aristarchus, a Macedonian from Thessalonica, was with us. —Acts 27:1-2

 Last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me and said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you.’ So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me. —Acts 27:23-25

            God’s plans for us will not be thwarted.  What He desires done in a person’s life or in circumstances will be done.  He had told Paul that he would bear witness in Rome (Acts 23:11) and nothing would stop that from happening—not attempts to kill him, not prison, not a storm, not a shipwreck…  Not, when God wants to accomplish something in a person’s life or through a person’s life, nobody or nothing can stop Him.

            Things were decided for Paul that were not in his control and circumstances happened as well that were also out of his control, but they were not out of God’s control.  No, He was guiding in and through people and circumstances to position Paul where He wanted him.

            Brothers and sisters, fellow followers and disciples of Jesus, so it is with us.  God will work through people and circumstances to position us where He wants us to be to accomplish what He desires.  It does not mean it will be easy or even pleasant at times.  Surely what Paul went through was not easy or pleasant, but God was guiding in it and we can trust Him to guide us as well.  May we do so.  Yes, Dear Father, may we trust Your Sovereign Hand in our lives to accomplish what You desire by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  May this all be for Your honor and glory and for the benefit of multitudes.  May it be so! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xeLgkpcpM0&list=RD8xeLgkpcpM0&start_radio=1
