LOOK TO THE RISEN JESUS!
LOOK TO THE RISEN JESUS!
You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this. —Acts 3:15
The priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to Peter and John while they were speaking to the people. They were greatly disturbed because the apostles were teaching the people, proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead. —Acts 4:1-2
It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. Jesus is ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’ Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” —Acts 4:10-12
As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” —Acts 4:20
Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. —Acts 4:29-31
Sinful mankind killed the very Author of their lives! But Jesus did not remain in the grave. No, Go raised Him from the dead. This resurrection of Jesus was the main focus of the apostles message. They were “proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead” and this brought conflict from the religious leaders. When Peter and John were brought before the leaders, Peter was filled with the Holy Spirit and said to them—
“It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. Jesus is ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’ Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”
The leaders wanted to silence the message of the resurrection, but Peter said— “As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” Is this true of us? Are you and I of that mindset and “cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard?” Will we pray, as these believers did, and “were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.” They had asked the Lord that they could “speak your word with great boldness” and their prayer was answered. Oh, let us pray this, and Dear Father, may You answer us by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of our Lord Jesus, Your Son, may we speak Your Word with boldness. Yes, so may it be and all for Your honor and glory and the benefit of others. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqWYSyDZYIg&list=RDEqWYSyDZYIg&start_radio=1
