HIS PERFECT WORD TO BE PROCLAIMED— OUR ONLY HOPE

So the word of the Lord has brought me insult and reproach all day long.  But if I say, “I will not mention his word or speak anymore in his name,” his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones.  I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot. —Jeremiah 20:8-9

As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him. —Psalm 18:30

            The only hope for this world, for any nation or for any individual is to listen and obey God’s Word.  Truly, “As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.”  Why would the world, a nation or an individual not seek to live according to His Word?  Because, like so far back in the garden of Eden, we want to do what we want to do.  We want autonomy.  We want to be gods of our own lives, captains of our own ship, controllers of our destinies.

            But the call is going out— “O land, land, land, hear the word of the Lord!”  Yes, this is the great need of America or any other nation on earth.  You and I, brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus, are called to proclaim His Word.  Are we?  Do we think like Jeremiah— “But if I say, ‘I will not mention his word or speak anymore in his name,’ his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones.  I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.”  Are we constrained, like him, the need to share God’s Word with others?  Oh, may this be so and may we be doing so!  Let us be like Paul who said, “For Christ’s love compels us…” (II Corinthians 5:14).  Yes, may Christ’s love compels us to share the Word of God with others as well.  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxoAfDg8_sk&list=RDpxoAfDg8_sk&start_radio=1
