DON’T HEAR— “HE LET THEM GO” OR “HE GAVE THEM OVER!”

DON’T HEAR— “HE LET THEM GO” OR “HE GAVE THEM OVER!”

Then the Lord said to me: “Even if Moses and Samuel were to stand before me, my heart would not go out to this people. Send them away from my presence! Let them go! —Jeremiah 15:1

But you have behaved more wickedly than your ancestors. See how all of you are following the stubbornness of your evil hearts instead of obeying me. —Jeremiah 16:12

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.  They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.  It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green.  It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”  The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure.  Who can understand it?  “I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.” —Jeremiah 17:7-10

Rise up, Lord, confront them, bring them down; with your sword rescue me from the wicked.  By your hand save me from such people, Lord, from those of this world whose reward is in this life. —Psalm 17:13-14

“Let them go.”  That is a horrible place to me.  We read the same thing in Romans 1:24, 26, 28— “Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts… Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts… Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.”  The Lord says, “But you have behaved more wickedly than your ancestors. See how all of you are following the stubbornness of your evil hearts instead of obeying me.”  Yes, people want to follow “the stubbornness of your evil hearts instead of obeying me (the Lord God Almighty).”  Listen to what the Lord says about people that do not want to follow Him— their “reward is in this life.”  You may have heard that for those who don’t want to follow the Lord that “life on this earth is as close to heaven one will get” and for those following the Lord— “life on earth is as close to hell one will get.”  Which are you?

For those following the Lord, they are blessed because

  • They trust in the Lord
  • They have confidence in the Lord
  • They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream
  • They will not fear when heat comes
  • They will have leaves that are always green
  • They will not worry in a year of drought
  • They will never fail to produce fruit

Truly, “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure.  Who can understand it?  ‘I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.” (Jeremiah 17:7-10).  Are you ready to meet Him to give an account of Your life?  “Then they (those not following Jesus) will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous (those that are righteous because they follow Jesus) to eternal life.”  Where will you spend eternity?  Dear Father, please help each one reading this be ready to meet Jesus and for those who know Jesus, please put it on their hearts to tell others for the rest of their lives on earth.  May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  Yes, so may it be!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxTOsQ3LDE4&list=RDRxTOsQ3LDE4&start_radio=1
