BEING FAITHFUL OR FAITHLESS…

BEING FAITHFUL OR FAITHLESS…

Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Walk in obedience to all I command you, that it may go well with you. But they did not listen or pay attention; instead, they followed the stubborn inclinations of their evil hearts. They went backward and not forward. —Jeremiah 7:23-24

This is what the Lord says: “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord. —Jeremiah 9:23-24

            The Lord says—

  • Let not the wise boast of their wisdom
  • Let not the strong boast of their strength
  • Let not the rich boast of their riches
  • Let them be obedient
  • Let them walk in all He commands
  • Let them boast that they have the understanding to know Him
  • Let them boast in knowing He exercises kindness
  • Let them boast in knowing He is just
  • Let them boast in knowing He is righteous
  • Let them boast in knowing the things He delights in

“Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them” (John 14:21).  Loving obedience is where everything starts— Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’  This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments” (Matthew 22:37-40).  Am I, are you, lovingly obedient?

Unfortunately, there are many who will “not listen or pay attention; instead, they followed the stubborn inclinations of their evil hearts.”  But, brother and sister, fellow followers of Jesus, let us not be discouraged.  Let us press on with the work He has prepared for each of us (Ephesians 2:10).  Oh, yes, just because others will not follow Him does not mean we won’t follow and seek to honor Him by doing His will.  Please, Dear Father, help me through the power of Your Holy Spirit to be faithful to Your call on my life in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  Yes, may I seek to be faithful! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxfALK8xunw&list=RDpxfALK8xunw&start_radio=1
