THE FRUIT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
THE FRUIT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever. —Isaiah 32:17
Those who walk righteously and speak what is right, who reject gain from extortion and keep their hands from accepting bribes, who stop their ears against plots of murder and shut their eyes against contemplating evil— Isaiah 33:15
Truly I am your servant, Lord; I serve you just as my mother did; you have freed me from my chains. —Psalm 116:16
Jesus has freed us from our chains, bondage and imprisonment as we came to our senses, hearing His Word—
“And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.” —II Timothy 2:24-26
Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free… So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:31-32, 36). Yes, we are set free and have been given the righteousness of God through Him— “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (II Corinthians 5:21).
Through that righteousness that comes from God through Jesus, we have the fruit of that righteousness—
- Peace
- Quietness
- Confidence forever
- Speaking what is right
- Reject gain from extortion
- Keep hands from accepting bribes
- Stop our ears against plots of murder
- Shut our eyes against contemplating evil
Those who know Jesus should have this fruit in their lives. Do you? Oh, may it be so, Dear Father, by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Precious Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSAN5ObaRQg
