KEEP YOUR STRENGTH UP!

KEEP YOUR STRENGTH UP!

And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, just as he said, these forty-five years since the time that the Lord spoke this word to Moses, while Israel walked in the wilderness. And now, behold, I am this day eighty-five years old. I am still as strong today as I was in the day that Moses sent me; my strength now is as my strength was then, for war and for going and coming. —Joshua 14:10-11

You, God, are awesome in your sanctuary; the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people.  Praise be to God! —Psalm 68:35

The years of our life are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty. —Psalm 90:10

Amazingly, Caleb was just as strong at age 85 as he was at age 40.  He would do the same things at age 85 as he did when he was 40 years old.  Oh, to be like that would be a joy!  For me, that is only 15 years away.  May our Lord be willing for me to keep my strength up for years to come to serve Him!

Psalm 90 above says we live to be 70.  Ok, I will be turning 70 this month.  But then we are told that “by reason of strength eighty.”  Strength… it is good to keep our strength up which means we need to be disciplined in doing so.  Now, we can do our part, but ultimately it is God who gives “strength to his people.  Praise be to God!”  Be pleased, Oh God, to give me the strength I need to finish the race You have marked out for me well.  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus and all for Your honor and glory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPIeS68TKe8
