NONE ARE “ON THE FENCE”
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” —Jeremiah 1:5
Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we ask you, brothers, not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. —II Thessalonians 2:1-4
The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. To this he called you through our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. —II Thessalonians 2:9-14
There are those who are antichrist living now— “Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us” (I John 2:18-19). One day the anti-Christ, “the man of lawlessness, will be revealed. But already that same satanic spirit of Satan that empowers the anti-Christ is already working through many who are anti-Christ. They promote lawlessness and destruction and are seen in many ways. The destroying of children in the womb is one— one which is a direct affront to God and against Him. Our Lord said, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you…” Think of that. Those being aborted are known by God even before they were conceived. So, abortion is destroying those known by God! That is pretty serious and is instigated by a satanic spirit and those influenced “must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will” (II Timothy 2:25-26).
There are two groups of people and only two. First, there are those who do not want to believe in the truth—
- They won’t believe God knew people before they were formed in the womb
- They won’t believe God has special purpose for those aborted
- They will be deceived and perish
- They are deceived because they refused to believe the truth
- They refused to be saved
- They are given a strong delusion
- They will believe what is false
- They will be condemned for not believing the truth
- They will be condemned for having pleasure in unrighteousness
The second group of people—
- Believe Jesus is coming again
- Will be gathered to Him
- Are to be aware of deception by false communication
- Know the rebellion will come first before Jesus comes back
- Know the man of lawlessness will be revealed before Jesus comes back
- Know the man of lawlessness will be destroyed
- Know the man of lawlessness is an opposes all worship
- Know the man of lawlessness exalts himself against all worship
- Know the man of lawlessness seats himself in the temple of God
- Know the man of lawlessness will proclaim himself to be God
- Know the man of lawlessness comes actively in Satan’s power
- Know the man of lawlessness produces false signs
- Know the man of lawlessness produces false wonders
- Know the man of lawlessness deceives those who are perishing
- Know the man of lawlessness deceives those perishing because they refused to believe the truth
- Know the man of lawlessness deceives those perishing because they refused to be saved
- Know they are beloved by our Lord
- Know they were chosen to be saved
- Know they were set apart by the Spirit
- Know and believe the truth
- Know they were called by the gospel
- Know they may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ
