THE COMING NEW HEAVENS AND EARTH
For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind. —Isaiah 65:17

For as the new heavens and the new earth that I make shall remain before me, says the LORD, so shall your offspring and your name remain. —Isaiah 66:22
They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, when he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed. —II Thessalonians 1:9-10
Wow! What must it have been like in the beginning, before sin entered the Creative order? Can you imagine laying down with a lion as your pillow? I have been close to a lion. I have heard the crunching of bone as it fed. How awesome to have a lion as a pillow, but that is what it was like in the beginning, before man sinned and then everything started to change.
But this fallen world will not even come into mind when we are in the “new heavens and a new earth” future. No, “the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind.” There will be peace in that time, even animals will not kill each other to eat each other. What a joy that time is going to be! Yes, there is a new heavens and new earth coming and the former will pass away.
Not every person will be in the new created order. Those who do not believe our testimony about Jesus “will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might.” There will be those who will enjoy the glory of the new heavens and earth and then there will be those who will suffer the “eternal destruction away from the presence of the Lord” because they did not believe. My destiny, your destiny is determined on whether we believe and live for Jesus according to His Word. Where do you stand? Will you experience the joy of the new heavens and earth or the eternal destruction away from the presence of the Lord? Thank You, Dear Father, for the hope/expectation of a glorious future in the new creation. I so look forward to that time to be with Jesus and all who love Him.
