HIS WORD WILL ACCOMPLISH HIS PURPOSES

HIS WORD WILL ACCOMPLISH HIS PURPOSES

For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. —Isaiah 55:10-11

For you yourselves know, brothers, that our coming to you was not in vain. But though we had already suffered and been shamefully treated at Philippi, as you know, we had boldness in our God to declare to you the gospel of God in the midst of much conflict. —I Thessalonians 2:1-2

And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers. —I Thessalonians 2:13

The rain and snow fall and waters the earth.  In watering the earth, the earth then brings forth food to eat and seeds to plant that more food is produced.  This is the purpose that God has designed for the rain and snow.  And just as He has purposed that accomplishment for the rain and snow, so also has He given purpose for His Word that goes out of His mouth.  It will not return to Him “empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”  We can count on that!

And so it was with the Thessalonians.  Even though Paul and His team “had already suffered and been shamefully treated at Philippi,” Paul said— “we had boldness in our God to declare to you the gospel of God in the midst of much conflict.”  Why after suffering conflict does Paul and the team still share the Word of God?  It is because they really believed that as His Word goes out, it will accomplish what He desires.

So Paul’s team declared God’s Word boldly to the Thessalonians.  What was the result that the Lord accomplished?  The Thessalonians “received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.”  So, brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus, trust God to accomplish what He desires to accomplish as you share the Word of God.  You can be sure of this— He will accomplish what He desires as His Word goes forth.

Dear Father, may I share Your Word verbally or in written form however You give the opportunity.  May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  Yes, may this be so for Your honor and glory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYu8ZyETnKo
