DON’T BE DECEIVED— THE UNRIGHTEOUS WILL NOT ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD!

I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. —Psalm 121:1-2

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. —I Corinthians 6:9-11

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. —I Corinthians 6:19-20

We are to glorify our Lord God Almighty.  He bought us for a price— “with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect” (I Peter 1:19).  We are not our own, we are His.  Our body is His temple.  How are we treating His temple?  We are to treat it according to His desires with the help He gives us to do so.  Oh, that we might yield to Him.

As followers of Jesus, we are to “walk in the light, as he is in the light (I John 1:7).  When we called on Jesus to save us (Romans 10:13), we were rescued “from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that (we) may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in (Jesus)” (Acts 26:18).  “We know that we are children of God and that the world around us is under the control of the evil one” (I John 5:19).  Oh, like us, that “God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will” (II Timothy 2:26-26).  Here are some ways Satan traps and holds people in captivity to his will—

  • Sexually immoral— This is all around us today and now includes the promotion of false gender identities. Any sexual activity outside Biblical marriage is sin, is rebellion against God
  • Idolaters— Again, this is rampant all around us. Materialism is high on the list as is the love of money.
  • Adulterers— This is surely a cause for many marriages and families being destroyed and is so unfortunately acceptable.
  • Men who practice homosexuality— but not just men— “God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error” (Romans 1:26-27).
  • Thieves— Wow… smash and grab— who would have thought a few years ago that people could destroy stores, steal what they wanted and get away with it. This is satanically promoted and committed.
  • Greedy— Greed is all around us. How is it that people come out of government “service” as millionaires when they went into office far from it?  Greed…
  • Drunkards— The state promotes this by placing state liquor stores at major intersections to get the most “business.”
  • Revilers— Insulting, condemning and berating communication is so out of control today. It is so ugly…
  • Swindlers— Scammers are all over the place today. Just now my wife told me of an $800 charge to our business card to buy tires which we never did.

This is a short list of the unrighteous who will not enter the kingdom of God.  Brother and sister, dear followers of Jesus, “And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”  Oh, let us rejoice and give “joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians 1:12-14).

Thank You, Dear Father, for rescuing me in Jesus.  Now may I live for Him by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Dear Son Jesus.  So may it be and all for Your honor and Your glory.  So may it be! https://youtu.be/bo9ZWX1lEKI?t=1027
