BE LOVINGLY OBEDIENT— WE ARE SENT BY JESUS TO SHARE THE GOOD NEWS!

Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you.  As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” —John 20:21

As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. —John 17:18

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” —Romans 10:13-15

Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. —John 20:30-31

Fellow followers of Jesus, brothers and sisters, we have been sent— each one of us.  As Jesus was sent into the world to bring this good news to us, now we are to bring it to others.  This good news can be verbalized or given in written form.  God’s Word is clear on this.  “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the Word of Christ” (Romans 10:17).  And “these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”  So… when was the last time you verbalized the good news with someone?  Or, when was the last time you gave the good news in written form to someone?

Many people shy back from verbalizing the good news with others, but surely anyone can offer the good news in written form!  Can you, today, make it a point to share the good news with someone?  Will you be intentional about that?  In reality there are many people we can share with and many ways today we can share the good news.  Technology enables us to share His good news with many without even leaving home.  So, if you say you don’t see many people because you don’t get out of the house much because of health reasons, then ask our Lord how you can share from home— phone calls, emails, social media, letters… There are all kinds of ways to share the good news and support others who are!

So, it is not a matter of not being sent to share the good news.  Rather, it is are we being lovingly obedient to what Jesus has sent us to do?  Oh, Dear Father, may we be intentional about sharing the good news with others as we go through our days.  Yes, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son, Jesus, who sent us to share the good news!  https://1drv.ms/u/c/094ddeff6f88a0bf/ETrDYngvYlxEmqSue4juY-ABkn7mpu9TpGo6VI-VymZkpA?e=L2n5Pe
