I LOVE JESUS, BUT MANY HATE HIM

Six days before the Passover, Jesus therefore came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. So they gave a dinner for him there. Martha served, and Lazarus was one of those reclining with him at table. —John 19:1-2

When the large crowd of the Jews learned that Jesus was there, they came, not only on account of him but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead. So the chief priests made plans to put Lazarus to death as well, because on account of him many of the Jews were going away and believing in Jesus. —John 19:9-11

The crowd that had been with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to bear witness.  The reason why the crowd went to meet him was that they heard he had done this sign. 19 —John 19:17-18

The once dead man, Lazarus, was sitting at the dinner in Bethany with Jesus as Martha was serving them without complaint.  A large crowd learned that Jesus was there, so they came to see Him.  They were not only coming to see Jesus though, but they were also coming to see the one He raised from the dead— Lazarus.  It was on account of Lazarus that “many of the Jews were going away and believing in Jesus. “So the chief priests made plans to put Lazarus to death as well.”  Wow, here’s an awesome miracle that Jesus did alive that no one can deny— a wonderful work— and they wanted to kill both Jesus and Lazarus.  How evil!

But many of the crowd who had witnessed Jesus calling “Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to bear witness.”  How could they not speak of something so awesome that Jesus had done?  Only God could do this!  It was because of their testimony that “the crowd went to meet him” after hearing “he had done this sign.”  They were drawn to Jesus.

It is so interesting how raising Lazarus from the dead drew many to Jesus and then this same sign caused others to want to kill, not only Jesus, but Lazarus as well!  So it is today.  There will be those who love Jesus and there will be those who hate Jesus.  Which are you?

I love You Lord.  Oh, may I grow in my love for You and be faithful to You by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in Your authority.  Yes, may this be so… never ending…  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSAN5ObaRQg
