PROOF OF CLOSE RELATIONSHIP— DOING GOD’S WILL

Then Jesus’ mother and brothers arrived. Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him. A crowd was sitting around him, and they told him, “Your mother and brothers are outside looking for you.”  “Who are my mother and my brothers?” he asked.  Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.” —Mark 3:31-35

            Who does Jesus consider His close family members?  It is those who do God’s will.  They are what He considers family.  Doing God’s will is the highest priority and His will is to—

 “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” —Matthew 22:37-40

It is the wise man who hears the Word of God (God’s will) and does it.  It is the fool that hears the Word of God (God’s will) and does not do it (Matthew 7:24-27).  It is the one who is obedient to the Word of God (God’s will) that truly loves God.  It is the one who is disobedient to the Word of God (God’s will) that truly does not love God.  People can say they love God, but their actions will prove whether they do or not.

God’s will… are you living according to His Word, being obedient to what He says?  Your answer really is telling as to what kind of relationship you have or do not have with Him… regardless of what you say.  Your actions will determine the answer.  Dear Father, may I seek to be faithful to Your will above all.  May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So be it!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiS2QzvDhQc
