REPENT OR…

 If at any time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed, and if that nation I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent and not inflict on it the disaster I had planned. And if at another time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be built up and planted, and if it does evil in my sight and does not obey me, then I will reconsider the good I had intended to do for it. —Jeremiah 18:7-10

             Will the United States heed the warning! Surely what was said by our Lord to Jeremiah applies to us today as well.   Our Lord is the One who raises up nations and He is also the One who puts them down. No nation is exempt from His judgment when He decides to judge. But also if a nation repents of its evil He will not bring disaster upon it. This is very clear from the passage above.

            There is no doubt our Lord established this nation. It is very clear from our founding documents and the founders’ writings. Were they perfect men? Of course not. Did they get everything right? Of course not. But our Lord did work through them to establish this nation. Look at the original Mayflower Compact. This people came expressly to share the gospel. Our “higher learning” institutions are corrupt and have revised documents such as this to exclude any focus on God’s movement to establish this nation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HO5nWZD8Tt0

            Here is the warning to the United States—- “REPENT OF YOUR EVIL!” If this is not heeded then we can expect judgment to come— and it will either come from external powers our Lord raises up for this purpose and from internal sources or both. If we, as a nation, do not repent of the evil in this land then this land will undergo judgment and may already be experiencing the beginnings of His hand of protection being withdrawn. WE NEED TO REPENT! Will we?

Dear Father please help me to follow after You closely and encourage repentance.   Please reveal and wicked thing in me and may I turn from it. Be please to do a new thing in this land and may our nation repent. May this be so through the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. So be it!
