DELIGHT IN AND DO HIS DESIRES

DELIGHT IN AND DO HIS DESIRES

“Go, do all that is in your heart, for the LORD is with you.” —II Samuel 7:3

            As a follower of Jesus—

Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. —Psalm 37:1-7

So as a follow of Jesus we are to “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” As we delight in our Lord then He will give us the desires of our heart that we are to desire. We will have right desires. That is why the verse above says “Go, do all that is in your heart, for the LORD is with you.” When we delight in the Lord we will desire what our Lord desires in our hearts and then we will do the right things. As we are delighting in Him we can trust this of our Lord— “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you” (Psalm 32:8).

So… may we delight in Him and allow Him to give us the desires we are to desire in our hearts. Let us trust Him to guide us and then we can have confidence that He is with us and the actions we take are of Him and not of our own doing. May it be so in our lives!

Dear Father may I truly delight in You and have the confidence that You are guiding me. Oh, that I would do Your will in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.   So be it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pu2S9y3r0XEE
