BE STILL…
BE STILL…
You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance. —Psalm 32:7
You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in your word. —Psalm 119:114
Have you ever felt like just getting away from it all? You know, like imagining some island paradise where the weather is perfect, the water temperature is perfect, the food is perfect, no conflicts exist, no troubles exist— everything is perfect!
There is a place! “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all” (II Corinthians 4:17). “However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” — the things God has prepared for those who love him” (I Corinthians 2:9). Yes, there is a place and it is going to be far better than anything we can conceive.
Until then, “you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3). Jesus is our hiding place. He is my shield and I can trust in His Word. I am preserved from trouble through the cross. I am delivered through the cross. The cross is my shield. My hope rests in what He says, knowing I can trust Him fully.
Want to get away from it all? Reflect on who Jesus is. Hide in Jesus. Rest in Jesus. Be quiet in Jesus. Ponder who you are in Jesus. Consider where Jesus is. Think about you being with Him in the perfect place in the not so distant future— finally, the reality of Paradise! Be still, be still, be still and ponder… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUx2WcC9JKo
Dear Father thank You for Jesus being my hiding place. May I be still and consider… in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
