WE WILL BE LIKE JESUS

When I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness. —Psalm 17:`5

Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. —I John 3:2

Here’s the hope that we have as followers of Jesus. We have eternal life, but this tent needs to be packed away some day (II Corinthians 5:1) and we will receive a new body —“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body” (Philippians 3:20-21). Our bodies will be the Lord Jesus!

What are some of the things we know about that? Well, it is our eternal body. It will never wear out and all that means—- no sickness, no weakness, no more tears, no more sorrow, no fear, no anxiety… we just cannot comprehend what our body will be like, “But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.”

Feel tired this morning. That won’t happen in heaven! Feel sore this morning? That won’t happen in heaven! Did you groan when you got out of bed? That won’t happen in heaven! Dear Father, I so look forward to that day. But until then please work through me so others will be there as well. May it be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
