REDEEMED!

REDEEMED!

No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them—the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough—so that they should live on forever and not see decay. —Psalm 49:7-9

This is truly an amazing statement about the value of a person. No payment is ever enough. No man can ever pay the price to redeem the life of another man. That is how costly a person’s life is. Not all the wealth of this whole world is enough to redeem one single person. Nor would the wealth of the entire universe be enough. If a person owned all of creation it still would not be enough to redeem one single life! No man could give God a ransom to redeem the life of any man.

Jesus, the God-Man, is the only One who can redeem the life of those who trust His finished work at the cross. Sin is an eternal issue. One sin would be enough to keep a person out of relationship with God, out of Heaven and headed straight to Hell. But Jesus took the penalty and punishment for all sin— “He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world” (I John 2:2). No mere man can redeem the life of another man, but the eternal Son of God can redeem all who call on His Name (Romans 10:13). The eternal Son of God took care of the eternal sin problem for all who trust in Him! This is the Good News! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQSuTP5OHBE

Dear Father, may I live faithfully for You out of great gratitude for all Jesus has done for me. May it be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit.
