GOOD SOIL
GOOD SOIL
The seed that fell on good soil represents those who truly hear and understand God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted! —Matthew 13:23
Are you good soil? Good “soil” truly hears and understands God’s Word. Good “soil” produces a plentiful harvest. Good “soil” will give plenty of evidence that it is good “soil.” Is this the case in your life? Jesus said, “This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples” (John 15:8). Fruit-bearing proves discipleship just as food produced proves a chef, building proves a carpenter, surgery proves a doctor, piloting proves a captain… Would a court convict you of producing fruit proving yourself to be a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ?
Today, let us bear fruit to honor our Father— “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and the one who is wise saves lives” (Proverbs 11:30). “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” (Galatians 5:22-23). “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise–the fruit of lips that openly profess his name” (Hebrews 13:15). Yes, let us bear fruit to honor him.
Dear Father, be please to bear fruit through me today. I cannot do this in my own strength, but only through the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son. May it be so! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDAITgJXO1I
