OH, TO BE WITH JESUS! NOT YET…

When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. —John 14:3

I want to be with Jesus! Is that the cry of your heart? It won’t be long and all who love Him will be with Him… forever! Rejoice!

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, so that through my being with you again your boasting in Christ Jesus will abound on account of me” (Philippians 1:21-26).

Even though Paul told us that his desire was to be with the Lord Jesus, which is far better, he also told us why he was to remain on this planet. He said it was “more necessary for you that I remain in the body.” The Lord God Almighty was not finished working through Paul yet. Paul would serve to help others in their “progress and joy in the faith.”

So, is the cry of your heart to be with Jesus where He is? Well, the reason you are not there yet is because He still has service for you to help others in their “progress and joy in the faith.” So, we rejoice that we can serve Him now and we rejoice that we know we will be with Him forever where He is as some point not in the too distant future! Wow, we followers of Jesus have much to rejoice over! Let us do so!

Dear Father, thank You for the awesome hope You have given us in Jesus in the present and for the future. Oh, praise be Your Holy Name and may my life reflect Your graciousness You have extended to me in Jesus!
