BE UNSELFISH

I, too, try to please everyone in everything I do. I don’t just do what is best for me; I do what is best for others so that many may be saved. —I Corinthians 10:33

Me…me…me… Mine…mine…mine… and so goes the way of a 2 year old. Not all, but many. They are self focused and are only looking out for their own interests. There are exceptions, but the norm is that think they are the center of the universe and they want everything to revolve around them. By nature they are selfish.

But so too it can be true and often is that adults are the same way. Instead of looking out for the best interests of others, often we are just looking out for our own interests. In the above verse the Apostle Paul says that he looks out for the best interest of “others that many may be saved.” He is talking about looking out for the best interests of the lost! When is the last time you or I were looking out for the best interests of someone who does not know Jesus? Oh, that we would do so today!

Dear Father, today help me to look out for what is in the best interest of those who do not know Jesus. May that be the case today in the authority of Jesus and by the Holy Spirit’s power.
