JOY

Then Simeon blessed them, and he said to Mary, the baby’s mother, “This child is destined to cause many in Israel to fall, but he will be a joy to many others. He has been sent as a sign from God, but many will oppose him. —Luke 2:34

Many people will oppose Jesus and fall and great will be their fall (Matthew 7:27). It will be an eternal fall (Revelation 20:15). On the other hand, Jesus will bring others great joy (Luke 24:52). Their joy will last forever (Romans 10:17).

Who can truly oppose Jesus? Can a man tame the sun? Can man ever still the waves of the ocean? Can man hold a tornado in his hand? Neither can men oppose Jesus and come out on the winning side. Satan is a defeated foe and all who side with him and against Jesus will be defeated forever. Nobody can stand against the Creator and Sustainer of all things.

Who will you side with— Jesus or Satan. There are only two sides. You are either in the Kingdom of light, the Kingdom of Jesus or you are in the Kingdom of darkness, the Kingdom of Satan. You are either set free from your sin by Jesus or you are held captive by Satan to do his will. Oh, may you be trusting and living for Jesus now and forever!

Dear Father, thank You for the joy You have given me in knowing Jesus. Oh, may I let others know of this Joy that they may know Him too.
