YOUR ANSWER SEALS YOUR ETERNAL DESTINY

Jesus Asked— “But who do you say that I am?” —Matthew 16:15

There are some questions that are life changing. Will you marry me? Now there is a question if answered with a yes that should give life-long direction. Or how about, “When can you start?” That question after an interview for a long sought after job will also have major impact in a person’s life.

There are many questions that can have major impact on a person’s life. But the most important question ever to be asked is the one above, “But who do you say that I am?” That question, depending on how it is answered it, will seal your eternal destiny in heaven or hell. The world religions say that Jesus is just a prophet or teacher or a man that lived a good life. So it is with people in general as well. They believe in similar ideas if they even believe that Jesus lived on the planet at all. Many deny that He did.

What amazes me is that many who deny Jesus speak His Name more than many who believe in Jesus. Unfortunately they do so while breaking the third of the Ten Commandments given to Moses— “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain” (Exodus 20:7). People use the Name of Jesus to punctuate their sentences. If Jesus were dead they would not do this, but it is because He is alive and is Lord that they do. There is no other name that people use like that of Jesus to punctuate their sentences. Jesus rose from the dead after taking the penalty and punishment for our sin. He is alive and at the Father’s right hand (Mark 16:19; Acts 7:55-56; Hebrews 1:3; 8:1; 10:12; 12:2). Instead of using His Name as a cuss word, people should bow their knee and trust Him as Lord and Savior. Oh, may that be the case for many, even today!

Who do you say Jesus is? Your answer will seal your destiny forever… yes, forever whether you believe it or not. Oh, if you have not trusted Jesus. Please turn from your own ways (repent), ask Jesus to forgive your sins, ask Him to save you and make you into the person He desires as you live for Him. May it be so!

Dear Father, it is only as You draw people that they can come to Jesus. Be please to draw people to Him today. May we be used of You to be part of that process to draw people and honor our Lord Jesus Christ.
