LOVE GOD

Neither before nor after Josiah was there a king like him who turned to the Lord as he did—with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength, in accordance with all the Law of Moses. —II Kings 23:25

What do people put all their effort into? Some focus of sports, working out, their job, their home, their family… Much time, effort and resources goes into these areas, but for many there is not much time, effort or resources that are set aside for the Lord God Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth and all that we see and do not see.

King Josiah turned to the Lord with all his heart and soul. The verse above says that there had not been another king before or after him that had turned to the Lord like he did. He was truly a godly leader.

We are to be like that according to Matthew 22:37-40. Loving the Lord God Almighty with our whole being is the first and greatest command. That causes me to stop and ponder— “How much do I truly love Him?” Does my love for Him impact my time, where I focus my energy, or where I invest my resources? May my whole life be one of truly serving Him and others.

Dear Father, may I not just say “I love you,” but may my life show it. Oh that You would be honored in and through my life. Thank You for me being able to know You because of the Lord Jesus. I am grateful.
