FEAR NOT BY TRUSTING GOD!

FEAR NOT BY TRUSTING GOD!

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me? …In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me? —Psalm 56:3-4, 10-11

The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? —Psalm 118:6

So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” —Hebrews 13:6

Are you fearful of circumstances that surround you? Are you afraid of people? Are you afraid to speak? Are you afraid of death? Yes, we may experience fear, but how do we overcome fear?

We fear because we are not in control of what may happen that may harm us. How do we get over this? The verses above are clear. “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?” Yes, to overcome fear I put my trust in God; I put my trust in His Word. It is then I understand that circumstances, people and even death cannot do anything to me to take away my eternal relationship with our Lord God Almighty.

Speaking of death, which comes to us all at some point, I love this clip from “Lord of the Rings.”  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_FmqI7QKck Ahhhhh… let us live with our focus on the Prize! Let us run this race with perseverance while we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus— the Author and Finisher of our faith. When we cross the finish line of death we will be with Him and all who love Him. So, let us “not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to (us)?  When fear grips us let us trust Him and what He has to say. So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” So trust Him. Trust His Word. That is how we overcome fear. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLX83HbefrI

Dear Father may I trust You and trust Your Word that fear will be dissolved.   May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son, Jesus. So be it!
