BE A GIVER AND BE “MORE BLESSED”

In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ —Acts 20:35

            Have you been “more blessed” recently by giving?   Did you give someone of your time?   They you were “more blessed.” Did you give someone of your resources? They you were “more blessed.” Did you give your testimony to someone? Then you were “more blessed.” Did you share the gospel with someone? They you were “more blessed.”

            Yes, it is nice to receive and that is a blessing. But here we see that it is “more blessed” to give. How is your life a giving and “more blessed” life?   Who are you helping? As you know it is a joy to help someone, to give to someone because we are motivated by our Lord’s own Words— “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” This goes contrary to the world’s philosophy summed up with the bumper sticker— “He with the most toys wins.”

            As stewards of God we are to have a loose grip on what He has given us responsibility with. We are to ready to give as He desires. So today, how is He asking you to give that you would be “more blessed.” Giving always brings great blessing. So give to someone today, whatever it is you may give and be “more blessed.”

Dear Father please help me to be a giver and not seek to be a taker.   I thank you for those who are “more blessed” by serving me as they are motivated by You.
