YOU ARE THE APPLE OF GOD’S EYE!

YOU ARE THE APPLE OF GOD’S EYE!

…for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye. —Zechariah 2:8

…he guarded him as the apple of his eye. —Deuteronomy 32:10

Keep me as the apple of your eye. —Psalm 17:8

The “apple of the eye” is precious.  It is also the center of the eye.  You are precious to our Lord God Almighty!  You are central to Him and just as you would protect your eye from any danger so He protects you— “My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand.  My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand.  I and the Father are one” (John 10:27-30).  Do you see how precious you are to Him?  Do you see how safe you are in Him?

Here is a warning to those who would touch those who are the “apple of His eye.”  Whatever a person does to one of His children that person is doing it to the “apple of His eye.”  They are doing whatever they are doing not only to His child, but to Him!  We can see this in a variety of places.  In Acts 26 it is stated in verses 14 and 15 that Saul was persecuting Jesus.  How was he persecuting Jesus?  He was doing so by persecuting the church— “the apple of His eye.”  Again, in Matthew 25:31-46 the sheep and the goats are known for what they did or did not do.  This action or inaction toward “the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me” or “whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for Me.”  Whatever action is being taken toward a child of God, “the apple of His eye,” is actually an action being taken toward the Lord God Almighty Himself!  This is true of an unsaved person toward a follower of Jesus, but it is also true of one follower of Jesus toward another follower of Jesus!  Let us consider that!  Wow! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsQmsEE_2-s&list=UUf1NPIFOBwzTLVQiEDnq4Cw&index=8

Dear Father it is hard for me to understand at times that I am “the apple of Your eye.”  But I am truly grateful that I am and out of that gratitude may I live faithfully for You in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.  May it be so!
