WE ARE GOD’S POSSESSION!
For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. —Deuteronomy 7:6
For the LORD has chosen Jacob to be his own, Israel to be his treasured possession. —Psalm 135:4
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. —I Peter 2:9
And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. —Ephesians 1:13-14
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. —I Corinthians 6:19-20
Fellow follower of Jesus you are owned by God! We are His servants and friends, His possessions. Think about this! He has chosen you. He wants you. He loves you. His compassion is toward you. His kindness is toward you. His best interest is toward you. He has promised never to leave you. He has promised to be with you to the end. He is working in you. He is conforming you to His Son Jesus. He chose you to declare His praises. He called you out of darkness. He called you into His marvelous light. He sealed us with His Holy Spirit. He has guaranteed our inheritance. He has made our bodies temples of His Holy Spirit. He bought us with a price— the precious blood of Christ. Therefore, we are to honor God with our whole being. Dear Father, may I honor You by the way I live. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it!
