PERSECUTION & JUSTICE

PERSECUTION & JUSTICE

As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?”

“Who are you, lord?” Saul asked.

And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting! Acts 9:3-5

Those who do not know the Lord Jesus Christ need to understand that when they persecute followers of Jesus they are persecuting Jesus Himself. This is a very serious offense!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYbX-3_a98U “For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead” (Acts 17:31). Justice will be brought about by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. We can trust Him for that. No one is getting away with anything. Jesus will do what is right. Yes, we can trust Him for that (Luke 18:1-8).

Those who are killing or harming Christians in various places of the world will be tried by King Jesus. For those who do not trust Him as Lord and Savior now, they will meet Him as Judge and “It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:31). People can shrug Him off today like He does not exist or that it doesn’t really matter… but when the unsaved meet Him as judge they will be like the demons when they came into contact with Jesus— “What do you want with us, Son of God” or as James 2:19 says— “You believe that there is one God; you do well: the demons also believe, and tremble.” They tremble because they know judgment is coming. Those who do not know the Lord Jesus Christ should be trembling at the prospect of Hell. But they shrug it off as if it does not exist…

Well, brother and sister, may we communicate the gospel clearly and challenge the lost to “flee from the wrath to come” (Luke 3:7) which they are already under (John 3:18, 36). Yes, let us warn them to flee to Jesus for refuge. May it be so.

Dear Father, please help there be an urgency in my life to bring the gospel to the lost. Oh, may it be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
