GOODLY (GODLY) LEADERS ARE NEEDED!

I will sing of your love and justice, Lord. I will praise you with songs. I will be careful to live a blameless life— when will you come to help me? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home. I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them. I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil. I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride. I will search for faithful people to be my companions. Only those who are above reproach will be allowed to serve me. I will not allow deceivers to serve in my house, and liars will not stay in my presence. My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the Lord from their grip. —Psalm 101 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cx9-LkuVWt4&list=PLApeJb99y-r-JRrQbua5KHmLNB3oq-IDc&index=7

This Psalm is about King David, a national leader. Ponder for a moment how many national leaders seek to have these character qualities and not just seek them, but are seen in the leader’s life. Who comes to mind on the national level? How about on a state level, city or town level?

Why do people seek to be in leadership positions? Some people seek leadership for the power and prestige. Others do so simply for the money and influence. I truly wonder how many leaders in this country are truly serving because they love God and love people. These are the type leaders we need. May God be pleased to give us Psalm 101 leaders in this up-coming election. But whatever He decides, may we be faithful for Him under any government.

Dear Father, thank You that You can be fully trusted in any situation we find ourselves in. Be please, Lord God Almighty, to raise up godly leaders looking out for people’s best interest. May it be so in the authority of our Lord Jesus and in the Holy Spirit’s power.
